The Police Kiosk - A Moonshot
The Police want to be even closer to citizens and society through innovative service desks that are visible, approachable, and accessible to everyone. We designed a moonshot for the police kiosk and brought the concept to life.
Filing a report in an accessible way
A moonshot is a vision of what, in this case, the kiosk could become: a concept that leaves room for imagination, yet is firmly grounded in research. The police kiosk is designed to make filing a report quick and easy. The core idea is that these kiosks can be installed—sometimes temporarily—in high-traffic public areas such as train stations, tourist hotspots, or festivals.
Filing a report with Wendy
Lost your passport, or had your wallet stolen? Did you witness a disturbance? Inside the kiosk, you interact with the digital officer Wendy, a concept jointly developed by Deloitte and the Police.
Bringing the idea to life through the moonshot
Topping the kiosk is a canopy in signature police blue—affectionately dubbed "the cap"—providing shelter from sun and rain while making the kiosk instantly recognizable. Next to the kiosk, a bench surrounded by greenery offers a place for companions or waiting visitors, enhancing its welcoming atmosphere. Both the canopy and the bench feature a three-layered design, referencing the layered visual identity of the police.
The overall design balances brand recognition with innovation: familiar enough to represent the police, yet fresh enough to sketch a vision of their future. The prototype will be installed at police premises for a year, serving as a catalyst for conversation around this innovation.
